Personally, I think the worse thing about this episode, other than Lockon "losing", is the sense that he only lost because the Union guy decide to kill himself - by then Ali only has 1 arm, and he lost his sword by then, so he can only run away or lose. Guess the union guy decide to die instead of returning - guess he doesn't care about that on the Union side, they only have one Tau GN Drive left, while the rest have like 5 each. I think it's stupid on so many level - 1) most of the Union's named pilot death come from Throne's side 2) Other than the professor, the rest of them are killed because they decide to take down or capture Gundam. Unlike Lockon's family, who has nothing (that we know about) to do with anything bad, yet still get bombed, so Lockon's need for revenge is so much greater than those Union guys, yet they still decide to destroy the Gundams. I am not saying they shouldn't, but the way they pigheadedly try to destroy the Gundam doesn't seem to make much sense - eve n Graham knows when to back off.
