I tried to subscribe to the IFWP list several times in December and January and only succeeded after someone complained loudly about access to the IFWP list being restricted. When I treid to subscribe, nothing happened. I was just ignored. I think that I also wrote teh list manager, but that email bounced. After the complaint, I treid again, and became subscribed. I guess complaining works. There must have been a lot of other people who tried to subscribe and couldn't or who were just dropped from teh list and didn't say anything.
