True.
I tried to say the same thing last year: USG is not just one staff in an
Executive Branch agency.
Why should the people in charge now be less authoritative than the person in
charge back then?

What has ETSI to do with OSI?!?
I've heard of ISO/OSI before, but ETSI/OSI, this is the first time ;>).

I understand that this is what you hope.
If I were you, though, I would not be happy of a failure of ICANN, because
you may like the alternative (i.e. an intergovernmental agency, as already
in place for most other similar domains) even less.

Thanks.
In fact, I think I will be impossible to replace ;>).
What is happening at ETSI is that we are reorganizing the activities related
to Internet in a way that will allow us to contribute more and better to
this process.
In practice, this means that instead of having a one man's show we will have
several people, far more expert than myself in each area: Domain Name
registration for our activities as CORE Member, Internet Protocols for our
activity as Internet Standardization Organization and participant to the
PSO, just to name two of them. All this will be coordinated at the DDG
level.

As for myself, should anyone care ;>), I am not planning to disappear, just
to change E-Mail address......

Cheers
Roberto
