Not to mention that this Names Council has NO business making ANY
decisions like this at this stage. The "members" have been elected
(those that WERE elected anyway) out of a preselected group of members
and with no serious attempts to outreach.
In my opinion, none of these constituencies have been "formed" yet,
they just have a framework and structure, and ICANN should not accept
any recommendations from a Names Council that has been formed this
way.
These issues are HIGHLY controversial ones, and ones where
stakeholders have very diverse positions. It sounds to me like the
trademark interests are trying to push this down our throats before
anyone can present any type of opposition.
