The reason that Jeff Williams stupid and destructuve joke was so
readily believed is that it is just the sort of thing that the ICANN
board would do.

Nevertheless, it has hurt the credibility of those who believed it,
replied to it, and reposted it. Jeff Williams couldn't have done
better if he were working for CORE and ISOC. Maybe he is.
