Very interesting article here Andy.  The part that struck me
as particularly interesting was:
"Icann adopted a recommendation from the World Intellectual Property Organization that disputes over cybersquatting in top level domains such as ".com" be handled through an international dispute resolution process - the details of which will be determined by  the unelected United States-centric organization.

Mr Higgins held a one-hour meeting with Icann interim chairman Esther Dyson in
Santiago. He says she indicated country code domains like ".nz" would be next. "

This was particularly interesting in that it reverses an earlier attitude that
the than very new ICANN (Initial?) Interim board had towards ccTLD's and
stated so publicly and that they seem to be making decisions in advance
without any public input, but only taking the recommendations of the GAC,
and leave it at that.  Again another demonstration of disenfranchisement
and further violation of the principals and precepts of the White Paper.

also, on a slightly different subject,
