You must be busy watching motivational videos "Diversity in business models"? Nice buzzwords but it helps to understand what it means and apply it correctly in the argument. In this case competition already exists in the domain registries. In fact I would term such competition - competitive cannabalism. So I agree that the sooner we get additional tld's online the better. But new tld's will not make competition efficient. That attempt has been the goal and the results are a screwed up domain industry with lot's of SRS problems. The introduction of new tld's will however result in more cannabalism between competitors - prices will drop like telephone company long distance rates - and the tld slipper slope will be introduced. Once the world knows diversity is an option, the pressure will rise on ICANN to perform and deliver. Regards Joe Baptista
