Dropped on Debris Linux.  Pops along pretty good now (no more memory
swapping).  Firefox is fast, email, plays music, can't get a DVD to play in
gxine though (sound but no video).  Wireless PC card worked immediately.
Quite surprised with that.  Linux has come a long way over the years!

Came across this distro debris. ITs an based on Ubuntu 8.04 and runs
very nicely on aEmachine T1090 900 mhz Celeron CPU, 128 mb RAM
and a 30 GB HDD, I was impressed.

Peppermint OS is another possibility for an older machine.

ubuntu on 256mb of ram? no question why it's slow now lol.

really though, that computer wouldn't be half bad if it was running a
stripped down low memory OS/window manager. just switching from like
gnome/kde to xfce can make an amazing difference.

i don't have a use myself, but know a guy who's in the market for
something like this, i'll let him know. thanks for your post :D
