I do a presentation called, tentativly, "Mainstream
Linux: A user perspective". I leave work at 6 30 so it takes me at least 24 mins to get there, but how does it sound?

Worse case I can see about slapping something together on some topic. Or
we can just have a social hour, gathering etc. Though rather there be
some sort of agenda. Don't really have free time to socialize, but
rather that than no meeting/gathering.

If you can't present something in July, there is aways August,
September, etc ;)

We always need presenters and topics!

   Hello,

Long time lurker (years!) here. I'll be out at the next JaxLug
meeting on July 20th. I'm not sure I'd like to do this presentation
the first time out, but would like to submit an idea and present it to
other people on the list.

A couple of weeks ago, I released a open source project named
'Sagan'. To give a really basic run down, Sagan is a multi- threaded,
C program that monitors system events (syslogs, etc). It uses a
'Snort like' engine and rule set. When an event is 'triggered', it
can store it into a Snort database. Sagan will also insert the event
in such a way it can be correlated with Snort/IDS events. This also
means you can view not only IDS/IPS event in utilities like BASE or
Snorby, but you view security related log events. Sagan can actually
do a lot more non-Snort related stuff, but rather than clutter this
post with that information, I'll just refer to the Sagan web site:

Perhaps after my initial meeting with people at the JaxLug on
the 20th, I'd could to do a presentation about the software (installation,
configuration, etc). Perhaps in Aug or Sept?

If it wasn't for C, we'd be using BASI, PASAL and OBOL.
