I've used it from one of my Windows boxes. I've got Comcast as ISP and use their DNS, and OpenDNS servers as secondary, with my local DNS forwarding requests to those two.

When benchmarked, those two came out on top, with OpenDNS beating out Comcast. I get an average of 0.089 with OpenDNS and 0.091 with Comcast on uncached requests. I should probably switch them in priority in my local DNS, but figure the difference is minor.

Also, DNSBench suggested InterNAP and STS as other front-runners out of its database, but I don't know if I should use them or not.

All in all, a useful tool, but I don't know enough about how it's built to strongly recommend.
