greetings, first time caller, long time listener....

I am looking for some collaborators for a streaming video project. In the beginning its on a volunteer basis, but as it comes together, will turn into some consulting dollars.

first, a quick intro on me. I am a techie who has started a fashion design company and factory. KaraBazma.com is located in the Jacksonville Landing. I have a 3000 sqft factory/showroom where we design dresses and manufacturer them as well.

The custom made dresses are created from a software application that I created that takes a woman's measurements and her desired dress, and resizes the dress pattern to her exact size. The pattern is then cut out and the dress is made.

I am looking to disrupt the fashion industry with high technology and the idea of "made in the USA" for clothing can still exist.

On the lines of high technology, I need some high tech linux help to do the following:

On Feb 20th, we are having FSHNFEST - jacksonville fashion fest. There will be all kinds of interactive fashion related workshops with a big fashion show at the end.

I want to record the event using multiple cameras as well as being able to broadcast. I have looked around and there isn't one complete package to do what I want. The pieces are out there, and it takes some glue-work to create the following:

an HD camera is hooked up to a linux box that reads in the firewire/usb video stream. it records to the local hard drive, and encodes the video to a high rez streaming format and sends it to the video switch (via local LAN).

this video switch will be able to receive multiple camera streams and be able to choose which stream should be broadcasted. the broadcast stream is then broadcasted to allow client players to view it.

The client video players would be boxes hooked up to flat screens in another part of the area for people to view who could not fit into the Courtyard.

Right now, I am not looking to stream over the internet, but in the future, live events would be streamed out, so the video switcher would then stream to a streaming server.

There will be many more live events going after after this inaugural event, so the collaborators involved will grow with this project.

If you are interested to work on this project, please email me at [email protected]

I'll setup a meeting time for everyone to meet at the factory and do the initial brainstorming as well as a meet-n-greet.
