I procured an IBM 44P Model 170 RS/6000 server on the condition that I do a security wipe of the drives. I have the 5.1.0.0 install media, and there is a PowerPC port of DBAN. The box has AIX 4.3.3 now.
1. I assume the install media disc one is bootable. This would be assumed from the AIX 5L Admin guide I have - can someone verify this? 2. I assume a base installation includes CDE - I do not have a PS/2 mouse. Would it be worth the drive to Town Center from Mandarin today to get one? 3. What type or remote connections are available by default installation? I assume telnet or ssh, but would vnc server need a separate installation?
