Writing on my phone so please excuse typos. My dad's Ubuntu install went belly up and I don't have the time right now. Want to make 50 bucks? Just need you to reinstall then trim the fat, probably use Xubuntu or another light WM. The system only has 512MB RAM so I'd put a light WM and stopped a bunch of unneeded daemons, then made it super easy to get online. Set up Picaso for pics and set that to auto upload. Installed all updates. I believe he also needs the Yahoo toolbar. Stupid me, I didn't back it up. The disk is probably good but if not I have another. Want to make some cash? Please use the latest LTS version, Firefox/Flash/Java, no printer, SSH server, a firewall, automatic login, set up Ubuntu automatic cloud backups, do the other items mentioned above and create a tarball. It needs to be pretty dummyproof. The system has no DVD drive but you can temporarily transport an IDE drive, or move the disk over. Sound good?
