Shell server?  Testing network/services from a remote host..  Temporary storage of files..  Running screen + irssi so I can connect and remain connected to irc.freenode.net (#jaxlug),  SSH port forwarding..  Just to name a few..  I have several external shell sources that I use.   It can be quite nice to have something on a public network thats not your home machine.   Anyways... just a thought.  About the BSD/jailed option,  you can do something very similar with vserver/Linux.  It's basically a jailed env without emulation,  see http://linux-vserver.org/Welcome_to_Linux-VServer.org for more information.   Anyways,  just a thought.  On Feb 6, 2012, at 7:19 PM, Chad Bailey wrote: In case it wasn't obvious, I was actually kidding regarding the shell comment.
