I can maybe help you with the 7970. I have one on my desk here. We also have some 7960 phones. Ours are also connected to an Asterisk PBX. If you have a working 7960 config, I can maybe convert it to one that works with a 7970. I'm no expert with them, but I sit with people who know a lot more about them than I do, and I can run the config by them if needs be.
