I've been hunting around for some documentation on the TCP/IP interface, but haven't had much luck. From what I've been able to gather, the preferred way of accessing mySQL via TCP is by using the C interface library. There doesn't seem to be any documentation of the protocol that the C library uses anywhere. .:Eric
