They are dead easy to make. I didn't make the one i have, but i watched my friend do it, and it took him maybe 20 minutes to do. All you need to do is solder all like pins to eachother, in a daisy chain. For the in, and outs. If you catch what i'm saying. For each Pin Insert, there is a small connector with a loop on it. Wire these all together, in a series. Input: Pin One to Output 1 Pin One - to Output 2 Pin One, etc... all the way down the line. Repete for Pins 2-5. I've never used a soldering iron before, but am confident i could do this with very little trouble.

Building a MINI->DIN Sync converter would be way too hard, as you need
to know MIDI code to convert it. What you should do is make DIN
splitter, like that black box i brought to Caveman.
