my guess here is that you COULD probably find/build an alternative cpu if you can get enough information on the original one. with nowaday's programmable chips it should be possible, even if it would probably still be a lot of work. but hey, there cant be more than like a few kb of machine code for the sequencer, so building a "compatible" cpu and tweaking the original program a bit could be possible. i have never done the hardware part, but it might well be a fun thing todo. maybe ill try if i ever get my hands on a broken tb.
