I too am from Detroit originally (actually a downriver suburb of), now living on the west side of MI. Yeah Shawn's right the good old days of the Detroit scene ended somewhere around '96. But I've been out of it for a while, so don't know what it's like now, but I think Shawn's right, people are cool, but still too many jackasses hanging out for the wrong reasons. Well, no need for me to beat a dead horse. The electronic scene can only get better... in certain areas. Maybe not enough 303s in the music anymore? Any detroiters familiar with Detroit luv, or nefarious.net? It's run by some friends of mine.
Cheers, Dave

I'am from Detroit, MI (actually a suburb of 'd-town' but you could care less, I'am sure.) Our 'electronic scene' isn't what it used to be in the days of Carl Cox, Juan Atkins, and Ritchie (even though I know some of them are not from here.)
Anyways, I'am more into the hardcore/metal scene. Like alot of scenes in major cities, people are cool...and some people are fuck-faces, ya know?
Well....there you have it!
