I say that I think well designed and executed popups are a great
enhancement to the user experience … there is nothing I hate more than

information on a site. As always, it comes down to the way something
is executed, and as such I think it is prhaps premature to write off
functionality so generally.
With good design, good use of standards, popups can be terrific.
