Technology/User interface designer
CLOSES TOMORROW!!!

DEWR is seeking enthusiastic people to be part of the team responsible
for technology /user interface design.

The positions operate within the Information Technology Applications
Branch, as part of the Project Office Interface Design Team. The
Interface Design Team leads the organisation in terms of User Interface
Design for business applications. Additionally the Team develops user
interface standards and supporting frameworks and assets. The team is
highly progressive in terms of approach to technology ergonomics, and is
establishing itself at the forefront of a new line of business for DEWR.

The successful applicants will have demonstrated capabilities in visual
and interactive standards development within a technical and business
environment, and excellent knowledge of industry best practice for User
Centred Design. 

The existing team is highly motivated towards delivery of excellent
customer service to the branch. Subsequently the successful applicants
will have demonstrated capacity to operate within a large development
branch, as well an understanding of their roles in delivering excellence
in customer service.

Remuneration:
Remuneration package: Successful applicants will be offered employment
on an Australian Workplace Agreement (AWA) with an attractive
remuneration package up to $67,660(APS Level 4), $73,640(APS Level 5)
and $85,840(APS Level 6), including superannuation and potential for a
performance bonus. 
Acceptance of an Australian Workplace Agreement (AWA) is a condition of
engagement for all successful DEWR applicants who are new to the
Australian Public Service (APS). AWAs will also be offered to those
successful applicants who are currently APS employees.

Junior Web Developer

Corporate Image are a fast growing group, working across all fields of
communication. We need a clever web coder - someone who gets the web and
knows how to write the code behind it. You'll be working with a small team
on a variety of projects, both on internal projects and with external
clients.
The role is Junior Web Developer, and you will be expected to:
- Develop back-end code to provide site functionality following
  coding conventions
- Design and implement databases
- Take graphic layouts and convert them into table-less web pages
Most of your work will involve writing back-end code and database
design/development - if you're not a coder, run away!
Essential skills - you must be able to demonstrate your knowledge of these:

* Object Oriented PHP (version 5)
* Fundamental understanding of the MVC design paradigm
* Database Design with MySQL (or similar)
* Standards-compliant XHTML, CSS and JavaScript
Supporting skills - we'd also love you to have these skills:
* Understanding of web standards and browser compatibility issues
* Understanding of usability and accessibility requirements
* Demonstrable skills in working in a team environment
* Sufficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite tools to produce assets
efficiently
Bonus skills - having these will really score points with us:
* Any sort of exposure to Ruby on Rails
* Ability to use Linux/*BSD/UNIX for basic tasks
* Subversion / CVS
* Exposure to Java / J2EE
* Exposure to ASP
* Ability to plan, design and document systems using UML
* Understanding of AJAX techniques (including Prototype and Scriptaculous)
