After I emailed my post, the first email I got recommended 2 cms and I thought, 'oh, this is great. here is my answer'. But then another recommendation came in and another one... I wanted to thank all for their advice. This has been very helpful to  be able to hear from people that have used or use these applications every day. There are a couple that kept coming up as good option. and a couple that kept coming up as maybe I should stay away from as my first cms. OpenSourceCMS have been a great help as well. I went in and played around with a few, and some felt a lot more intuitive to use for someone that never used a cms before. So, just wanted to say cheers.
