As far as I can see, DL's are not deprecated, but they probably should be, as the vast majority of use cases are semantically incorrect. The one you describe included; surely a vCard or other microformat is more appropriate - the _definition_ of a particular company is a difficult concept to define, but I'm fairly sure its not their contact details!
