Medicare Australia are recruiting HTML/CSS experts to join their Web Design
& Technology Team.
The Team is responsible for the design and development of Medicare
Australia¹s internet/intranet websites, they are the agency's leaders in web
standards, usability, accessibility and information architecture.
Specifically, the team provides leadership on technical issues like
cross-browser compatibility, web best practice and techniques to achieve
compliance with Australian Government web standards. The team are ³hands-on²
HTML/CSS developers and perform some graphic design and system
administration services. Strategically, the team will be looking at User
Centred Design (UCD) methodologies and XML technologies.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience hand-coding/editing HTML & CSS and a sound
understanding of current and emerging web standards and technologies.
- Sound understanding of usability and accessibility in web development and
design
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated
ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with clients
- Experience in other web technologies (server or client-side) or other
Information Technology roles highly desirable
- Demonstrated initiative, ability to respond flexibly to changing
priorities and deliver to agreed deadlines
- A desire to share knowledge, and a willingness to learn, in a
collaborative Team environment.
