Bonjour à toutes et tous,
Le W3C a annoncé hier la publication des WCAG 2.0 en tant que norme internationale ISO/IEC 40500:2012. Ils espèrent ainsi favoriser une meilleure harmonisation de la norme et son adoption plus large par les gouvernements, les entreprises et la communauté du Web au sens large. Il semble en effet que pour certains organismes, il soit plus facile d'adopter un standard lorsqu'il a une valeur ISO. Le message en anglais ci-dessous donne toutes les précisions dont un communiqué de presse officiel du W3C, et un blogue sur le sujet sur lequel il est possible de poster des commentaires.

Dear WAI Interest Group Participants,

We are please to announce that today W3C and JTC1, a joint technical committee 
of ISO and IEC, announced formal approval of Web Content Accessibility 
Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 as an ISO/IEC International Standard, ISO/IEC 40500:2012.

"This important accessibility standard, which is already widely deployed internationally, can 
now benefit from additional formal recognition from ISO/IEC national bodies," noted Jeff 
Jaffe, W3C CEO. "Such recognition is expected to increase internationally harmonized uptake of 
WCAG 2.0 by governments, business, and the broader Web community."

ISO/IEC 40500 is exactly the same as the original WCAG 2.0 from the W3C Web 
Accessibility Initiative (WAI), which is freely available from:
