Its funny because this leads into an issue/problem I'm having right now.

WE have one Primary at our Data Center.

We have 50+ Secondaries..Each Secondary is a SUP/WSUS server

Are Clients still going to talk directly to the Primary for Its WUA/Policies?

WUAhandler shows:

Existing WUA Managed server was already set 
(HTTP://sccmPrimary.domain.NET:8530), skipping Group Policy registration.

Then about an hour and a half later it changes.

Enabling WUA Managed server policy to use server: 
HTTP://SecondarySCCM.domain.NET:8530       WUAHandler            4/15/2015 
7:49:42 PM           11284 (0x2C14)


Our Wsus Syncronized last night... and shortly there after all of the clients 
at the secondary start talking to the primary over the WAN link, instead of the 
secondary.

Unfortunately, neither of those statements is exactly true. In 2012 a DP is 
usually sufficient for remote locations and if the remote location is in a 
different domain or forest, then you can easily have a SUP there -- there's 
generally no need to have a SUP at a remote location though. These are just a 
tip of the iceberg of hte many different caveats and considerations that are 
possible.

It also depends on the number of clients -Without a secondary, all of your 
clients will be going over the WAN to the primary - not good if you have a lot 
of clients. If you want a SUP, you'll have to have a secondary.

Honestly, you really should bring in an experienced consultant or contractor. 
Messing this up can have grave ramifications for your network (and thus your 
job).

Have 24 branch locations that only have a T1 to them.
I am wanting to hub and spoke my wsus/sccm deployment.
Would I have to install all of sccm 2012 to the 2ndary or local sites.?
(Active Directory 2012 with server 2012R2 for branch servers.)
