"We do charge mileage though on top of a reduced rate for travel."
Just to be clear, mileage IS charged in ADDITION to the "travel rate" ? and if so, is the mileage charged in the first hour that you don't bill? Also "Off hours" (evenings & weekends) does get a higher rate but the same applies to the travel , only travel TO THE SITE I get paid for. thx for the feedback Date: Thu, 16 Apr 2015 23:08:25 -0400 Subject: Re: [NTSysADM] TOT: Travel time From: jstew...@gmail.com To: ntsys...@lists.myitforum.com We bill for travel in both directions, but the 1st hour each way is not billed. We do charge mileage though on top of a reduced rate for travel. The rate also varies depending on if it is outside of normal work hours or not so we don't suffer that opportunity cost Michael mentions. This is for consulting/development work, if that makes a difference. -Jeff On Thu, Apr 16, 2015 at 8:21 PM, J- P <jnat...@hotmail.com> wrote: Hi all, This is totally off topic (TOT) for MS, but I'm sure many can relate/respond; I just started doing contractor work for a new provider, and I've just realized that for travel time they only pay travel time TO THE SITE, not my return trip and the travel rate is 50% of the hourly rate. Every trip thus far has been at least 50 miles EACH WAY, (100+ miles round trip),just the other day I had a 180 mile day. I'm just wondering, does this sound normal/typical, or does this strike anyone as "odd"? Any comments/feedback would be appreciated
