Ok I think I have it figured.

1. Most likely unrelated but a point. The PC I was working on was just
put into production at this branch and we still had the forward lookup pointing
to the old workstation in DNS. Corrected that.

2. Changed all \\serverip\printershare<file:///\\serverip\printershare>
to \\FQDN\PrinterShare<file:///\\FQDN\PrinterShare> in the policy.

3. Changed from Create to Replace on all the printer objects in the GPP.

4. Deleted all the printers from the PC.

5. On the DC forced the gpupdate

6. Rebooted PC.

7. All printers added and default printer is correct.

/RANT ON

Now the error 0x80070709 tells me it cannot find the printer because the
printer name is invalid but looking through all of these articles on that error
using Google it would seem more accurate that it just didn't want to delete the
printer that was already there.

So maybe printer already exists or kiss my butt or something other than invalid
name.

Keeps me up at night and doesn't rub the lotion on its body.

I cannot research an error that gives me bread crumbs down a dead end.

Ah, ignore that last reply-I see when scrolling up it's an underscore.

Only other thing I can think of is to maybe try the server name. If you
connect with the IP, it won't try to use Kerberos.

Is that a space in your printer's share name? If so, take it out.

Server 2008 R2, TCP/IP printer GPP.
Keeps getting this error?
If I go to Printers I can add the TCP/IP printer and if I want I can got to
start and and add \\server\printershare<file:///\\server\printershare>?
I am getting annoyed?
Clients are Win7 32bit
Server is Server 2008R2 with HP universal and List in Directory and both 32 and
64 drivers added.
