I don't mind dropping a couple of hundred bucks on an external adapter if need
be, but as I said earlier, 4k is a bit too steep for the few wifi survey jobs
I get.

thx

I’ve had a lot of luck with Xirrus Wifi Inspector for a pretty good overview of
what’s around. The problem with that is that it’s only as good as the network
 adapter in my laptop, however.

Subject: [NTSysADM] wifi analyzing

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a wifi analyzer (software or hardware) that's not going
cost me a mortgage payment or two?

I have this great little app on my phone which does detect AP's, displays
signal strength (with sound as you get closer/further), shows channel usage &
overlap , but I need something a little better, however, I'm not ready to fork
out 4k just yet.
