I don't mind dropping a couple of hundred bucks on an external adapter if need be, but as I said earlier, 4k is a bit too steep for the few wifi survey jobs I get.

The problem with that is that it’s only as good as the network adapter in my laptop, however. I have this great little app on my phone which does detect AP's, displays signal strength (with sound as you get closer/further), shows channel usage & overlap , but I need something a little better, however, I'm not ready to fork out 4k just yet. tia
