On my Ultrabac server which is Win2k3, the driver for our Tandberg Data autoloader came from the Ultrabac program folder/Drivers/Win2K/medchg.sys
If that doesn't work give support a call. From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Richard McClary Sent: Wednesday, May 27, 2015 12:56 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [NTSysADM] OT, but it's my Windows 2012 backup server Greetings! We have been backing up to tape using UltraBac software and a Quantum Scaler i40 tape library. The library has two SAS tape drives (both HP LTO5). The server is an IBM x3550 M3. The drives are connected through an IBM M5025 SAS/SATA controller. With Win2003, all was well. We needed to upgrade to Windows 2015 R2. First step was to upgrade firmware using IBM tools (creates a bootable update USB chip). The tool failed on "5000-series RAID". In the upgraded server, both tape drives appear. However, the library itself (called "Medium Changer" in Device Manager, when detected) does not appear. The IBM site has a firmware update, but the "Supported operating systems" are for Red Hat and SUSE linux or for VMWare ESX. Anyone out there solved anything like this?
