How do you deal with apps that are active at the time of deployment..?

I would expect a reboot required but I'm ending up with a failed..(I hope
the answer is not too add the exit code in the metadata).

Subject: [mssms] Update Catalog for SCUP

Hey all,

I'm looking for recommendations for an update catalog provider for
SCUP/SCCM. I have about 19,000 active clients and I'm tired of patching 3rd
party apps via full app deployments. I'd love to hear about any experience
or suggestions any of you have.
