I always ask the network guys to QoS ConfigMgr down to the lowest priority.

Subject: [mssms] Bandwidth throttling

I need to calm SCCM sync down a little.
Currently the SUP sync's with Microsoft at 7:00 PM. We are seeing bursts of 80
MB. I would like to limit the SCCM 2012 R2 server to just 25Mb.
I am thinking the Sync bandwidth cannot be controlled within SCCM but rather
use a BITS Group Policy to limit it to 25Mb 24x7.
Is that a good route or is there something better?
