For Lite Touch, existing task sequences should continue to work. In some
situations, you might want to create a new one to shift to new “Format and
Partition Disk” steps.

For Zero Touch with ConfigMgr, we always recommend creating new task sequences
with every MDT release.

Subject: RE: [MDT-OSD] Upgrading Task Sequences

Don't have to upgrade them. U may want to swap the boot media to be a new one,
which u will need to create and u may need to change ur sccm client
commandliine around depending on how u have that set.

Subject: [MDT-OSD] Upgrading Task Sequences
I know in the past we’ve always had to manually recreate task sequences when
upgrading MDT. I’ve seen nothing stating I still need to do this. Is that
because the steps haven’t changed? I see no differences in the default
client.xml TS template for example. Is it still necessary to recreate the task
sequences following an upgrade? It’s a pain so if I don’t have to do it I
don’t want to do it. Thanks in advance.
