Client install was done manually so we’ve specified the MP and site code to use in the install string. The ConfigMgr control panel shows the correct AD site name and the correct management point name. I’ll have to check with Desktop Support team as I can’t remember the name of the logs I saw, but I could see that the PC was contacting the correct management point (Eg. HW/SW Inventory scans are working), but when it was to download the packages from the distribution point, I recall seeing the name of the other primary site server/distribution point, which it can’t reach.
Won’t be able to change the site boundaries because it is in use at another site and this 2nd IP address was assigned by the vendor. (Client workstation was previously not on our network and so it wasn’t an issue at the time or expected, but now that it needs to be on the network, we are starting to encounter this issue. Is the client assigned to the correct site? In the client logs, which site’s MP is the client hitting? What is listed in AD as first default site? What Nick mentioned will work and resolve you issue unless there is some reason you can’t list the second adapter’s IP range or subnet in the boundary list of your “preferred” site (such as – it is a boundary in the other sccm site you mention). Are either of the sites using client push installation? Hi All, I have a workstation with two network adapters installed on it that I’m trying to get working with SCCM 2007. The primary IP address falls under the site boundaries of the desired Primary Site server. The IP address of the 2nd network adapter is connected to an external hardware that we have no control over its setting, but unfortunately happens to fall into the site boundaries of a different Primary Site server. I can see that some communications is going to the correct Primary Site server, but when the system is trying to download software packages to run advertisements targeted against it, the logs show that it is trying to access the other primary site server, which fails. I am unable to change the IP address of the 2nd network adapter to something else. Is there a way to configure the OS or SCCM to ignore that adapter and focus the communications on one specific network adapter?
