Hi, We have a DFS structure set up and are looking to make changes, The DFS is between two servers on different sites. The links between sites are quite slow, and we would like to minimise disruption
My question is If on one server we decied to move a file from \\DFSROOT\Folder1 to \\DFSROOT\Folder2 Is that file moved locally then replicated from the new location to the 2nd site, or is it processed as a move on both ends? If it is moved then replicated this would eat up a lot of bandwith so question 2 would be Can I stop replication, make all the changes copy the new structure to USB hard disk, and transport the disk to site 2 and replace the strucutre on Site 2 with the new one, and then restart replication would this see the sides as identical, or would it replciate the whole strucure to site 2 again?
