Greetings!
For backups, we use Ultrabac with a Quantum Q40 library. In Ultrabac, one must
use the Ultrabac library ("medium changer") driver.
We use patch management systems (not WSUS) to collect/download patches and
schedule which machines get patched when (as well as which patches to apply),
and to report what machines are missing what patches. We once used something
called "Security Manager Plus", but its performance was poor. We recently
switched to another system (Centrastage?).
Since then, the monthly patching job has been "updating" the library driver, so
that the Quantum device driver is installed rather than the Ultrabac driver.
Backups no longer run until I open Device Manager and roll back the library
driver to the UB version.
The patch server administrator says the machine has been set to not push out
driver updates. Still, a couple of patch cycles later, it continues to install
the Quantum driver.
Should I seek out the file "qntmi40.inf" and move it elsewhere to remedy this?
Thanks!
