Domain DNS isn't something you just poke at, hoping you're doing the right thing, especially when your domain is already broken. Hopefully our big shots will agree, and just pony up for a call. Tomorrow. One of the other admins here was looking at doing a forest recovery, and we are nowhere near that stage yet, I don't think. This is why I want MS to look at it; a forest recovery (when none of us here have ever done that) is a nuclear option..I'm optimistic that all I need is some DNS fixing. My child domain is chugging along just fine, replicating with one another happily. Dnslint there finds all DCs, parent domain as well as child domain. It's only the parent-to-child that seems broken.
