Yes, I use quite a few of the built-in maintenance tasks, but none that I can
think of that would/could lock up site server as it does. I suppose I could
turn off ones that only run on that day and see if it helps, but I’d rather
find out what the underlying issue could possibly be if anyone else has seen
something similar that gets fixed without just rebooting the server.

Thanks,

Are you using the built-in site maintenance task and is it perhaps scheduled
for the evening before?

Subject: [mssms] Compsumm inbox climbing, not processing

Hey everyone,

Seeing something weird ever since I upgraded from 2012 R2 to 2012 SP1 CU2.
Every Monday since the upgrade has seen issues where any changes made or
packages distributed don’t seem to take and the compsumm inbox just continually
grows until I reset the smsexec service on the primary site. Then everything I
distributed and changed starts flowing, at least until it happens again.

I’m going to guess it has something to do with the weekend maintenance tasks
but I can’t seem to find any smoking gun. Suggestions?

Thanks,
Richard Poole
