I typically install CM on a separate drive than the OS. As far as SQL is concerned that documentation in on the SQL technet site not the CM one. For a site this small it likely doesn't really matter but I'd put the database files on a separate disk than the CM install files and the SQL logs on yet another one. Of course all that is pointless if they are just partitions sitting on the same physical disks.

Due to the small size of the environment I'm recommending a single site server with all roles installed on the one server. Server OS will most likely be 2012r2 Standard with SQL 2012 Standard. TechNet is understandably vague on hardware configurations so are there any recommendations or best practices for the disk configurations for a setup this small? Most blog posts regarding server sizing talk about large sites. Obviously we would have a separate drive for content source and distribution but should the ConfigMgr application be installed on a different drive? Should the SQL database be on a different drive?
