I copied over the client install folder the local machine, opened a command
window in that folder, and type in my ccmsetup info there: ccmsetup.exe
SMSSITECODE=XXX, /mp:sccmserver FSP=sccmserver.domain.com .. it kicks off the
ccmsetup.exe immediately in task manger processes, and then I see the BITS
jobs, from the command prompt listing, that it's started a transfer for
CCMSETUP DOWNLOAD. I've never used the /source switch before. Didn't think it
was necessary. The ccmsetup.log also shows the transfer happening:

Does the ccmsetup.log show downloads happening from the remote SCCM server?

Are you specifying the location of the local files with the CCMSETUP.EXE
"/Source:" switch? If not, it CCMSETUP will always download from the install
files from SCCM, unless it cannot find a download location.

Look at ccmsetup.log - it gives explicit details of what it's doing.

Why is that when installing ccmsetup.exe on a new machine, manually, using
local install files, that I see a BITS on the machine job listed as "CCMSETUP
DOWNLOAD" Transferring. Why would it need to download that?
