It is mostly just the office suite. But SQL will have multiple entries because
of each feature, so....

BTW, I would also guess that Visual Studio would have the same issue too , Plus
there is a free version of Visual Studio that comes with SQL server tools too.

Hello Garth,

Interesting....I'm assuming this is the case for Project and Visio too? I only
see one listing in ARP for Office on my Windows 7 workstation.

What other Microsoft products show multiple listings?

I'm concerned with the following:

Project, Visio, SharePoint Server, SQL Server, Visual Studio, Exchange Server.

Thanks,

Brian

That is because Office can have anywhere from 1 to 4 entries for a given
product. For the Office suite, it generally has two listings within ARP data.

Subject: [mssms] SW query counts too high?

Good day,

I ran a SQL query against my all desktop collection which contains
approximately 700 devices. The query I am using is documented here:
http://smsug.ca/blogs/garth_jones/archive/2013/02/07/microsoft-true-up-report.aspx

I am confused as to why the counts came back so high. Here are the results:

Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 - 1400

Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 - 20

Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) - 244

2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 1 (SP1) - 10

I only have 700 devices so why is my count above 1500?

Thanks,

Brian
