The Project Better Place cars are being made by a joint Renault-Nissan venture. According to their website, about 100 cars are being built for pilot trials in Israel. In addition, some number of cars are presently in use in Denmark, as part of a project to demonstrate the use of wind energy to generate the required electricity
The CEO of Nissan has stated that Nissan intends to resell the cars globally, including the USA, by 2012 or sooner.
