That is strange. A 40-mile car at pure battery is reasonable for some 93% of
the
public, but keeping the charge engine running is like running it on
gasoline.
Why not run 40 miles without charging, measure the voltage immediately, and
set
that as the engine start standard.

your trip for the day with a full charge when you are driving a plug in car.
What is the plug for?

as soon as that gets wide reports that will be the immediate downfall of the
demand for the volt. There will be many that will be able to beat that but
that will be the number one excuse by everyone putting down electric
cars....
