Last minute meeting reminder!
The Suncoast Electric Vehicle Association (SunEVA) will celebrate its one
year anniversary next Saturday, June 6! We have enjoyed great success over
the past year by attracting those who have had experience in converting and
driving electric vehicles as well as those who are interested in learning
more about the technology. We have all shared our experiences and have
formed a cohesive network of individuals ready to help those with questions.
Black Bay Technologies is pleased to host the SunEVA meetings and provide
facilities, support and components for club member's projects. Please come
to our next meeting and help us celebrate our first anniversary!!
The one-year anniversary meeting will be held on Saturday, June 6, starting
at 10 a.m. at:

Black Bay continues to work on converting a 1999 VW Jetta to electric drive.
This is a great opportunity to observe a fun and educational project! All
mechanical and fabrication work has been completed and the air conditioning
and power steering drive system is complete and working. The 14 batteries
are all in place. We are currently waiting for custom springs to beef up
the suspension after adding nearly 1,000 lbs. of batteries. The vehicle
will be ready for wiring in the near future, just as soon as the springs are
installed.
This month, we will discuss the electric vehicle infrastructure needed to
support the growth of the electric vehicle marketplace. In particular, we
will discuss the pros and cons of various locations and types of charging
systems, who should pay for installation and the cost of electricity and
whether public or private locations provide the greatest advantages. Please
bring your thoughts, ideas and questions. This is sure to be an interesting
session!
Please come and support the electric vehicle movement!!
All are welcome to attend. Club meetings are free and open to the public.
As always, we expect several electric vehicles to be in attendance. All are
encouraged to ride in or drive the vehicles.
Meetings are held on the first Saturday of each month beginning at 10 a.m.
