G'day Mike,
No, there's nothing like that in place in this one. Good suggestion though. It was working alright in the 2nd half of last week which is interesting as it seems to have sprung out of nowhere. I've now restored the site back to the original URL and it's working again. However in doing this I had a couple of other problems; 1 I chose to use a SP Designer .cmp backup type to preserve list item ownership (the alternative was a .stp which assigns the site creator as the owner of all list items), however I had to recreate all workflows in the site. Once the restore was complete the workflows did exist, but when I opened the .xoml in Designer, list field references appeared as GUIDs. Is this normal? Backup/restore from/to same server 2 A discussion board on the site restored only initial thread posts and did not import any of the replies. I then restored the .cmp to another fresh site on the server and all the replies were there so I deleted the original site and restored it back there once more to find no replies on that board. Very strange. I bit the bullet and imported the discussion board as a template which brought the replies with it, and assigned me the owner. Anyone see any logic to this curse? Since no-one else had responded, I was just about to suggest a possible "off-the-wall" red herring. I once had a list where the filtering didn't work correctly to show items intended for the current user. The problem turned out to be in another web part (yes, one of mine, mea culpa!) This other web part changed its identity via impersonation in order to gain permission to access some corporate data. Unfortunately, it didn't undo the impersonation as it exited. The only observed symptom was the later web part (which was clearly being rendered on the same thread) showed incorrect results because it was running as the wrong user. Just a thought. Do you have any exotic web parts higher up on the page which might be changing identity? I have no idea what caused this but it seems to have gone away with this action. A big question mark. "There is another 'My' view that is the same as the problem one except it's in datasheet mode, which also contains the same missing list items" All 'My' views do not contain the missing list items. It's Monday J Cheers, Chris From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chris Milne Sent: Monday, 22 September 2008 09:41 AM To: listserver@ozMOSS.com Subject: [OzMOSS] SharePoint list items not appearing in filtered view Morning all, I have a problem with list items not appearing in a filtered view where they should be. We have a SharePoint custom list that holds user timesheet data that they enter. It contains a bunch of fields such as a lookup field to a job and a task, a numerical duration, date, and of course the 'Created by' field. I set up two main views; 'My Activities' and 'All Activities', with the 'My' view filtered by 'Created By (Indexed) is equal to [Me]'. This was working fine up until Friday, now many list items are not appearing in the 'My' view. If you check the 'All' view, they are all still there. There is another 'My' view that is the same as the problem one except it's in datasheet mode, which also contains the same missing list items. I also tried creating a new version of the problematic view which had the same problem. If you take the list view filter off, it shows all entries including the missing ones, along with other user's entries as expected. It seems the filter isn't returning all results it should be. The view is sorted and grouped (by week, then date). It actually seems that the week just gone's list items are all there, but prior to that there is only one list item appearing per week (for my user). Any ideas on why my list items aren't showing up?
