I enjoyed the novel but since I teach 5th grade I don't think it's appropriate for my students so I plan to recommend it to my middle school Humanities colleagues. Another title caught my eye when browsing a local bookstore this summer. The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation, Vol. 1: The Pox Party is an interesting read, but like The Book Thief, but it's very intense.
