It seems Fran may have problems testing the OSGeo-Live VM.
If you have osgeo-Live alpha2 downloaded and running, you may be able to
help Fran with his debugging.

1st pass I can't see any issues
I have the base Lucid VM, I update the install files to latest current SVN,
I run:
install_postgis.sh (our 1 required dependency)
install_sahana.sh
& the shortcut on the desktop works fine
I'll try a full main.sh build, but I may not have enough diskspace...
