Hello Brian,
Yes the problem with the new method is that it does not have "user"
created. Instead it uses the default user when you select "Try Ubuntu"
instead of "Install Ubuntu" after booting the disk.
This means that we have to do the following:
1. Create a branch in svn for this new method
2. Fix packages to not use "user"
3. Not place any files in /home/user but select another folder instead
4. Refine the desktop in live mode (background image, etc)

Hi all,
After talking with Alex, we thought to start testing a new build
system for osgeolive iso.
Alex has provided an initial script for this.
I managed to use this script and create a first version of osgeolive
iso.
I am uploading the log file from this test so we can all have a look
on what is breaking in this new process
http://aiolos.survey.ntua.gr/gisvm/6.0/osgeo-live-6.0alpha2-alternative.tar.gz
I am not going to publish this iso yet, I will wait to run a parallel
build this weekend for alpha3 and provide an iso.
Any thoughts?
Regards,
Angelos
