Taking this thread back to the OSGeo-Live and Ubuntu list.
Thanks Andreas and Stefan to volunteering to help out with GSoC mentoring.
All we need now is a student, and I think we could have a very
successful GSoC.

Hi Cameron and others,
well, I could imagine doing it formally. I know bits on the java gis
stack, but almost nothing I know about deb packaging ;)
This makes a good fit because I do not know anything about Java GIS
but quite a bit about Debian packagin. :-)
Any reason not to write on the list in public? Just a warning which
will also go to our (potential) student: I'm famous for avoiding the
netiquette and answer on list if the mail is pure technical and does not
contain any private information. This has proven to be a good method
to force people to open discussion.
Kind regards
Andreas.
