Hi,

I've done a quick skim through the docs to determine which need updating. Results of my review are in our project spreadsheet, in column "10.0 Doc Review" at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q5BaEgQtgw4O1bXyeWMlM8XtAOhUgcjZ7Y2O0FZc2H0/edit?hl=en_GB#gid=2014800150

I've added extra text to the Workshop wiki, (welcoming newbies and suggesting tasks)

Also listed below:

Application Id  10.0 Doc Review
Lubuntu         N/A
52nWPS Ok, check quickstart steps still work.
52nSOS Quickstart images to scale 70%.
cartaro Ok, check quickstart steps still work.
cesium Ok, although complexity of Quickstart very simple - could pick a more complex use case. Check quickstart steps still work. deegree Quickstart structure not following convention. Needs Table of Contents, needs screenshots. May need more.
eoxserver Ok, check quickstart steps still work.
gpsprune Ok, check quickstart steps still work.
geokettle Ok, check quickstart steps still work.
geomajas Quickstart is too short and not following writing tips (in the udig quickstart). It needs to show how to do 1 typical task. Look at GeoServer quickstart for inspiration. Quite a bit of work required here. geomoose Project logo is broken. Quickstart needs introduction sentence and TOC. Needs a "Things to try" and "What Next" section at end. See writing tips in Udig Quickstart. geonetwork This is a bit of a mess. Project Overview image sizes are wrong. Logo needs to be smaller. Screen shot needs to be bigger. Quickstart formatting needs to be checked after run through sphinx doc generation (* bullet points not printing properly). Add TOC. Some images have lots of white space and should be trimmed. Images should be 70% size. Broken links in images.
grass Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
geonode Add "OSGeo Incubation" logo to Project Overview. Quickstart needs the GeoNode logo, TOC, images scaled to 70%, otherwise docs are is reasonable shape. geoserver Ok, quickstart could add "Things to try" and "What next" heading at end. gmt Quickstart contains very little content, and doesn't include standard OSGeo-Live structure. It should take one use case and show how to get it working, along with screen shots. gvsig Ok, check quickstart steps still work. The quickstart is quite long, which makes it hard to maintain. If someone reworks this quickstart, it should be made shorter.
iris Quickstart only contains pointers. It needs to be written.
istsos Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
javaworldwind Project Overview typo: "doc: Quickstart documentation" should be "Quickstart documentation". Quickstart: No intro sentence, no "this quickstart covers" ,no TOC, no diagrams, no "What Next" heading. Based on these quick observations there will likely need to be review of other things against doc template (see writing tips in UDig Quickstart). jupyter https://live.osgeo.org/en/overview/jupyter_overview.html Docs not linked into main page. Project Overview formatting of images not done properly.
kosmo Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
leaflet Quickstart not following standard OSGeo format. No intro paragraph. No TOC. No images. No "Things to Try" or "What Next" heading. mapslicer Quickstart should have TOC, images scaled to 70%, use headings, add "What Next" heading. marble Check version installed. Version reported in Project Overview is "15.12.3". I suspect it is "4.4.13". Quickstart layout is not following OSGeo-Live guidelines. Needs a Table of Contents. Scale images to 70%. No subheadings. No "Things to Try", "What next?". Probably more. mapbender Quickstart intro is too long. It should just be a sentence, maybe two. No need to duplicate Project Overview. Add TOC. Scale images to 70%. mapnik Just ok, could possibly do with screen shots if it makes sense to do so.
mapproxy Ok. Scale images to 70% in quickstart.
mapserver Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
mapwindow       N/A
mb-system Quickstart could possibly be expanded, but this application is not as widely used as others, so less of a priority ncwms Ok, quickstart could add "Things to try" and "What next" heading at end. opencpn Quickstart could possibly be expanded, but this application is not as widely used as others, so less of a priority osgearth Quickstart needs work. It doesn't follow standard OSGeo-Live guidelines as per writing tips in UDig Quickstart. ossim Add TOC to Quickstart. Quickstart could potentially be expanded to cover a less trivial use case. osm We should rethink how OSM is presented. In particular, the Quickstart is not following a simple use case. This is something that should be discussed among the OSGeo-Live contributors and Project Steering Commitee.
openjump Add a TOC to Quickstart.
openlayers Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
otb Add a TOC to Quickstart.
pgrouting Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
postgis Quickstart icon has been scaled too small. Otherwise ok. Check steps still work.
proj4   See MetaCRS project.
pycsw Quickstart not fully in line with OSGeo-Live guide (see writing tips in UDig Quickstart). Intro paragraph should just be 1 sentence, not full copy of Project Overview intro. Remove OSGeo Project logo from Quickstart. Add TOC. Don't include "Installation" as it is already installed on OSGeo-Live. This Quickstart is possibly too long. It should focus on just one key use case. Add a "Things to Try" and "What Next" heading. pywps Project Overview: Main screen shot is too small. Quickstart could do with some screen shots, (if you can provide screen shots of images such as maps which make sense).
qgis_mapserver  Add TOC to quickstart
qgis Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
R Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
rasdaman Quickstart should have a TOC added. Some of the screen shot raw images are very large. They should be reduced to1024x768 in order to save disk space.
saga Quickstart: Add intro sentence. Add TOC
sahana Quickstart is too short and not following writing tips (in the udig quickstart). It needs to show how to do 1 typical task. Look at GeoServer quickstart for inspiration. Quite a bit of work required here.
spatialite Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
tinyows Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
udig Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.
ushahidi Quickstart: Add TOC. Probably should also explain how to enter an event into ushahidi. viking Quickstart is too short and not following writing tips (in the udig quickstart). zygrib Quickstart could do with intro sentence, TOC, some screen shots, probably a bit more.
zoo-project Ok. Check quickstart steps still work.

    Hello OSGeo-Live team,

    FOSS4G OSGeo Code Sprint will start on sunday 21.8.2016.

    Who is coming?
    ------------------
    Just want to ask who will attend. If you are not in the wiki yet,
    please add your name.

    Join Via IRC
    -----------
    You also can join the sprint via IRC.
    * http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Live_GIS_Disc#Contact_Us
    <http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Live_GIS_Disc#Contact_Us>

    Agenda
    -------------
    At the moment there are only tree topics on the agenda for the
    code sprint.

    * next version
    * documentation
    * translation

    If you have ideas, please add more topics.

    In last IRC we talked about possible topics

    * transiflex (set up translation with transiflex, find someone
    from other projects who can help to set it up)
    * provide test server - fix the old or set up a new test server
    with the up-to-date translation and translation statistics

    What do you think about the topic list?

    Newbies
    -------------
    Some newbies already mentioned to come to the code sprint. That is
    great! Would be good, if some of the OSGeo-Live people are there
    to give an introduction & overview about the project.

    Translations
    ------------------
    Looks like some work on translations will be done at the code
    sprint f.e Kari asked to start finish translation & some people
    volunteered to help with the translation.

    See you soon in Bonn

    Astrid
